This is one of our two clarifiers.

Water comes from our 68 acre-foot raw water reservoir. On the way to the clarifiers the water is injected with a strong oxidizing agent to treat any organics in it. A coagulant chemical is also introduced to help settle out particulate matter. Most (approximately 80%) of the foreign material is removed by this sedimentation process.

The radial arm channels on the surface of the tanks allow the clarified water to overflow and collect into a sump well.
